What we do

Community Lifestyles recognises that individual support requirements vary considerably throughout adult life, depending on many factors including age, life stage, health, family, job opportunities and social networks. We always provide support that is flexible enough to meet changing need whilst making a long-term commitment in all situations where this is required.

We work alongside various people in Community Health and Social Care Partnerships ensuring that we respond to the changing needs of the people we support in a way that makes sense to the individual and those closest to them.

The Same As You - Community Lifestyles adheres to the principles as defined in 'The Same as You' and the National Care Standards and evidence in our practice that everyone has the right to:

  • Be treated with DIGNITY and respect
  • Be SAFE from any form of abuse, exploitation and discrimination
  • Have real CHOICE
  • Have their PRIVACY respected at all times
  • Have DIVERSITY recognised and valued
  • Be supported to realise their POTENTIAL

Person Centred Support - Each individual has unique requirements that can only be met by ongoing recognition and development of individual gifts, talents and lifestyle aspirations.

We build meaningful relationships with the individual person and then, in conjunction with them and their existing support networks, consider the design of support arrangement that would meet their requirements.

Community Lifestyles is person-centred both in the initial approach and ongoing response to individual need. We use Essential Lifestyles Planning to reach this goal and continuously keep the individual at the centre of everything we do.

Circles of Support - Community Lifestyles believes that formal, paid support is only one part of an individual's life and undertakes to develop Circles of Support with the individuals we assist. We recognise that Social Inclusion for many people will require a proactive approach to enable individuals to develop friendships and community support networks.

Family links and ongoing family contact is important for many people and we work alongside families to ensure that they remain a part of the person's life in a way that makes sense.
